Hi, I’m Micah. I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and attended college at Yale where I double majored in Economics and African Studies. I believe that Data Science and technology can be used to improve the lives of indigenous peoples: from mainland Native Americans to Africans, or Native Hawaiians such as myself. While data are informative, they are incomplete without local understanding. Meaningful research must come from within the community, rather than technically proficient outsiders. My goal is to develop skills in order to uplift and empower my community of Native Hawaiians.
Post-college, I was an Associate Consultant at Bain & Company and I currently work as a Data Scientist for Berkshire Partners.
